Balcony extension for ABZ Baugenossenschaft, Adliswil
This project involved the planned extension of balconies for seven residential buildings owned by the ABZ Baugenossenschaft in Adliswil. The work covered the project from the preliminary design phase through to the construction description and the building permit submission.
One of the main challenges of the project was the proximity of several buildings to a nearby river. Due to local regulations and environmental constraints, the length of certain balconies had to be adjusted in order to comply with the required distance to the property boundary, the riverbank and the forest zone.
Another important technical aspect concerned the drainage of the new balconies. Because of the structural conditions and regulatory requirements, the drainage system required specially developed detail drawings to ensure proper water management and to obtain approval for the project.
The project highlights the importance of precise planning and technical coordination when adapting existing residential buildings within sensitive site conditions.
